M/Y Darwin

The M/Y Darwin was built in 1995 in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos. She is available for charter and individual traveller bookings who can join our fixed departures.
She graciously carries the name of the most important visitor the Islands have had, Charles Darwin`s "theory of evolution" not only caused a tremendous change in the science world but made the Islands famous and created a sense of responsibility to protect this unique paradise. We named our yacht after this important scientist as we would like to continue his legacy of discovery and protection of this natural sanctuary.

How the M/Y Darwin came to be
Manuel Villacís (the proud owner of the yacht) came to the Galapagos Islands in 1942. He lived his childhood surrounded by the wonderful endemic flora and fauna of the Santa Cruz Island. This motivated in him a great love for these enchanted Islands... In 1970 he started working in the tourism field having his own first sailing boat named "Jesús del Gran Poder". Years later, it became a tourist class boat named "DARWIN".
Though the years, the enchanted Islands became a very important attraction and center of tourism, and this increasing development brought him to the necessity of getting a new and bigger boat. That is why in 1995 the yacht M/Y Darwin began to operate cruises from Puerto Ayora. This is a tourist superior boat with 16 spots...
Accommodation and Facilities
Eight big double cabins with air conditioning, private bathroom and hot/cold water. Comfortable dining room, living room, bar and sundeck.
Culinary delights
Our chef will delight you with his delicious national and international cuisine; also, we can offer vegetarian meals for those passengers who require it (please be sure of letting us know while making your cruise reservation about your diet preferences, so we can take care of it adequately).

Not included:
Galapagos roundtrip tickets, Galapagos National Park entrance fee ($100.00 per person), additional drinks, personal expenses, snorkeling equipment ($10.00 per cruise).
