Galapagos Islands
Galapagos Islands since their discovery more than two centuries ago have inspired many scientists and biologists, the most renown to us Sir Charles Darwin.
The Galapagos Islands are located at 600 miles from the Ecuadorian Coast. archipelago is made up by thirteen large islands, six small ones and forty-two islets.
The UNESCO declared this Enchanted paradise as a Natural Heritage site. One of the most impressive animals is the giant tortoise called "Galapago", which gave the name to the islands. But there are also a variety of birds, 14 different species of finches, marine mammals, dolphins, whales and multicolor kind of fish.
There are two climatic seasons in the islands due to the shifting of the currents. The Humboldt Current causes the dry season, which is characterized by cool temperatures (63-72°F, or 17-22°C). The Niño Current is characterized by warmer temperatures (73-81°F, or 23-27°C), and light winds coming from the East....
